Ottawa County Parks Foundation

Branded for good

The Ottawa County Parks Foundation challenged us to create a brand identity that communicates the significance of its mission—to bridge community and nature by investing in green spaces that bring enjoyment to all. The organization needed to strengthen their brand recognition to raise funds, and to distinguish itself from other local parks and recreation services.

To achieve this, we designed a logomark that’s a modern take on an official county seal and used it as the foundation for a brand system.

Branding

The logomark—a distinctive, four-quadrant seal—showcases the four types of natural habitats found in Ottawa County: woodlands, shorelines, wetlands, and dunes. Our approach highlights their individual beauty and unifies them in single circle.

“This was the smoothest logo design process I’ve ever been through.”

Stationery

We proposed a system of business cards and other stationery concepts that continued the visual language established with the logomark. Our intent with this design was to reinforce the organization’s brand identity to attract potential donors.
